Smile Dental Practice

For the award winning Smile Dental Practice, the building (designed by prominent architect, David Shepherd) required a very sympathetic approach to the lighting.

The clients were very specific in their request that the lighting broke away from a traditional dental surgery and the emphasis, therefore, is on a calming and relaxed atmosphere. Simple wall mounted halogen spots were used to highlight task areas whilst wall-mounted up-downlights and table lamps were used to gently illuminate the “soft” waiting area. High levels of contrast were employed to achieve a tranquil and restful mood and to make clients feel at ease.
