Amos Lighting + Home have years of experience at hand to help transform spaces with the creative use of light. We have a team of imaginative lighting designers, who specialise in producing bespoke plans to light and enhance any area, an experienced retail team who are on hand to provide free advice in store and our behind the scenes team who keep the clogs turning.
I count myself lucky to love what I do, relish having such a great team and am always striving to do better for the customer, my team and my family.
School was never for me, but the workplace surely is and I guess I’m the perfect example of QBE – qualified by experience. My father gave me a job in lighting, aged 17, and here I am 35 years later under my own steam.Hobbies are few, but intense – my family and cars!
Residential Lighting and Furniture Expert
I came to work for Amos in 2015. I had worked for a lighting company before and surprised myself at how much I enjoyed this aspect of retail. I have now swapped fashion for interior – and think it was a wise decision!
I am also a trained photographer and this has certainly helped me in my creativity when it comes to looking at clients’ properties.
I fell in love with the city of Exeter when I started my Geography degree in 2004 and never left! Before joining Amos, I spent nearly ten years in furniture retail I’ve always enjoyed helping customers find beautiful objects that transform their home.
When not at work, I love nothing more than spending time outside, especially down in Cornwall. You’ll most likely find me sat on the beach or walking the South West Coast path with friends and family.
I have worked in retail for over 20 years, 8 of which for Amos Lighting + Home. I work in the showroom and have a background in furniture. I thoroughly enjoy being head of Visual Merchandising for both of our stores; being creative and imaginative, looking for new ranges and creating new displays!
Outside of Amos Lighting I am kept on my toes by my family! We enjoy spending time outdoors, and are always busy with friends and family.
I have 19 years’ experience in retail. The majority of this has been in the clothing industry; in 2017 I decided I would like a change of direction and Amos was the perfect opportunity. I am a very keen photographer which I feel has given me a good eye for detail.
My life is my family with whom I share my interests in the great outdoors (whatever the weather!), in cycling, walking, surfing and photography. On another note I am a Lego geek and a magician!
I moved down from the Midlands in 2017 to work for Amos Lighting. I have worked in sales and retail for the last 9 years, I really enjoy the opportunity to grow and develop the business further, meet experts throughout the design and construction industry and see the latest technologies.
Outside of work I am an avid Arsenal fan, have a passion for dancing socially and competitively around the country, keeping fit in the gym and a good pub quiz.
I have recently joined Amos Lighting as a Sales Consultant. I have some experience in lighting, but have many years in customer service sales, however, I am delighted to be learning a new product as I feel lighting transforms a living space, whether it be a kitchen, hallway, dining area, bedroom, office etc.
I have spent the last 10-12 years living and working abroad with my husband, we decided to return to the UK and make roots again. We have a beautiful rescue kitty, Jinks, who is a darling to have about. I very enjoy photography, embroidery, calligraphy, drawing/watercolours and diving, although the waters are ‘slightly’ colder to what I’m used to.
It’s been 15 years since I came to work with David and I can honestly say no two days have ever been the same. Working on such a diverse range of projects means every day brings its own challenges and rewards but it’s always satisfying to see long term projects become a reality.
Day to day, if I’m not pouring over architectural plans, I could be doing anything from sorting deliveries, to helping out in the showroom. Out of the office my interests include growing veg on my allotment, yoga, volunteering in a local charity bookshop and when time permits reading my way through the contents of said bookshop!
Moving to Amos in 2011 provided a fresh interior challenge for me. Being part of the design team gives me the opportunity to work on some amazing projects, be creative with design, source some beautiful lighting and above all work with some lovely clients. I also really enjoy supporting some of the regions most talented architects and interior designers.
When I’m not at work I’m being ‘Mum’ and when I do get some time to myself I like to go running, walking and riding in the countryside.
I am one of those lucky people who get to work in a job I love. I am passionate about design and creating beautiful, interesting and practical spaces for people to live in and enjoy and my role in the Design team at Amos allows me to do just that. Lighting is such an important aspect of good design and to do it well, and creatively is a challenge, but one that I happily take on.
When I’m not at work, I can usually be found out and about with Auby, my Cockapoo (although to be fair, he’s with me when I’m at work too!) or out on my paddleboard or running up on Dartmoor.
My working life has been nothing if not varied – from food product development to teaching, from horticulture to interior design, an eye for space, scale and colour, together with the ability to look beyond the obvious have been invaluable. I enjoy helping clients to make the most of their spaces with beautiful light fittings, lighting and furniture.
Outside of work I enjoy fresh air, either walking my golden retriever, Luna, or sail cruising – preferably in the company of my teenage son and daughter when they can spare the time.
I have been with Amos Lighting from day one, having previously worked for Design Lighting, alongside David, for 7 years. Over the years I’ve learnt a great deal about the lighting industry but, as with every aspect of life, design and technology never stands still. When I started, in 1993, low voltage halogen was the new revolution in lighting, and now it’s all moving towards LED.
When I’m not working, or looking after my grandchildren, you will find me and my husband at classic car rallies with our Morris Minors – I have a 1959 saloon, John has a 1965 pickup.
Having joined the Amos team in 2017 from a varied career path, I am now responsible for the day-to-day running of the stores. I take great pride in what I do, knowing I am often the final link between product and customer. The showroom is an inspiring place!
Out of work you will find me cooking up a storm in the kitchen, watching sport, and out sampling the best food and drink in the region.
I have been working in finance for nearly forty years mainly in the West Country in a variety of roles including the Charity Sector. I look after the money at Amos and provide information to help run the business. I don’t usually do words!
Most of my spare time is taken up playing with my grandchildren and getting out in the fresh air.
Head of Marketing
Growing up, I’ve always had a flair for business and marketing. With the best lemonade stand on the block, I knew I was destined for great things. Fast-forward 20 years, I’ve graduated from Auburn University (War Eagle!), paid my dues and learned the ropes through multiple marketing roles.
The days of selling lemonade are gone; however, the principles stay the same – work hard, dare to be different, and love thy customer.
I started at Amos Lighting + Home in October 2018, moving away from my safe haven of food and drink to the ‘bright lights’ of interiors and retail. I love being part of a small team and helping to develop and grow the business.
Outside of work I enjoy exploring the local country side on my horse called Jimmy and play rugby for Topsham rugby club; I love to travel, my favourite destination to date is Fiji.
