Autumn Trends | Fabric + Light | Blinds 2go X Amos Lighting

Autumn through to winter is the cosiest time of the year, not only is the weather getting colder but the days are shorter. Blinds and Curtains can make a huge difference in the colder months with energy-saving options that help to retain heat, whilst still looking incredibly stylish.

We asked Blinds 2go what trends they’re loving this autumn/winter to help you decorate your windows in the freshest styles and leading brands, so if you’re stuck for inspiration then look no further.

The 70’s Revival

The 70s era was all about eccentric patterns, quirky shapes and unusual colours to create fun yet sophisticated stylised environments. From open plan living to shaggy carpets and low-slung furniture, interiors were built around casual comfort. This nostalgic style is being revived 50 years later with a modern, laidback twist and people are now incorporating it into their homes in various ways. Earthy tones and natural materials such as rattan are popular reinventions, as well as velvet accessories to add a luxurious touch.

Blinds 2go has a plethora of funky designs one of which is the Lokho Granite Roman Blind –  the perfect fit within the modernised 70s revival trend with the muted neutral tone and bold repeat pattern. Alongside this, the Amos Dar Bombazine 3 Light Floor Lamp in Natural Brass Opal Glass is a vintage statement piece for any 70s-inspired room.

Sleep Sanctuary

Sleep sanctuary is a new, self-care trend focused around biophilic design and relaxing atmospheres to reduce stress and anxiety. Some of the main features include minimalistic décor, organic materials and plants, plants and more plants to create a natural oasis. Muted colours and soft lighting help to soothe the mood to create an inviting space which can also help the body’s circadian rhythm.

Ambience lighting is key and the Astro Milo Plaster Wall Light from Amos Lighting is a practical yet stylish option. It is controlled using dimmable warm-toned bulbs, giving it a contemporary, minimalistic feel. To complement the lighting, the Voyage Maison Valerius Sapphire Roman Blind from Blinds 2go has been created using hand-painted brushstrokes to portray the tranquil ocean. It is also available with either a light filtering or blackout lining, allowing for different preferences in snug sleep sanctuaries.

Cottagecore is based on a traditional lifestyle, embracing simplicity and sustainability to create a romantic aesthetic. It merges idyllic country elements such as wood, florals and tapestries to create a modern version of a snug, rural home. Buying second hand vintage furniture is a unique way of creating a rustic atmosphere, as well as being eco-friendly. Cottagecore is a realistic, lived-in trend, therefore decorative features such as setting the table and full bookshelves are all part of the charm.

Emma Bridgewater is a great example of a lived-in brand emphasising comfort and homeliness. Her range with Blinds 2go shows the Dresser Duck Egg Roman Blind with the iconic pattern of mugs, plates and teapots. It sits perfectly in a boot room, which is a quintessential cottagecore-themed space. Amos Lighting has found a great way to combine an antique and contemporary style with the Laura Ashley Mulroy Champagne Antler Table Lamp, which features two neutral faux animal antlers. A great way to connect the lamp to the countryside through nature and wild animals
