How to Make a Statement with Lighting: The Hux Shard Project
As seen on Grand Designs, the innovative Hux Shard residential home based in the scenic countryside of Devon, was no ordinary development. Featuring sculptural exterior walls formed of shard-shaped panels and a beautifully architectural design, Amos Lighting was selected as an eye-catching addition to the property’s interior.
The brief for the homeowners was to create a unique and geometric design that would follow the contours of the surrounding hills. The interior exudes contemporary charm and thanks to large windows, you can see the edges of the shard panels from the inside, creating a flowing connection to the landscape.
Luminating Living Areas
As with everywhere throughout the property, the windows in the hallway and living room are triple-glazed with a frameless design, providing a clear view of the garden.
The beautifully sunken living area features our stunning slim-profile hanging pendant lights that fall from the ceiling, adding a subtle glow to the room. The look has been further enhanced with a dark petrol blue wall, a larger corner sofa and mismatched armchairs for a cohesive and modern finish from top to bottom.
Dining Room Delight
A beautifully modern and architectural look has been carried through into the kitchen, keeping the overall aesthetic of the property seamless. Dekton worksurfaces have been chosen for the kitchen island and surfaces, with soft grey cabinetry to complement. A cluster of our pendant lighting fixtures have been exquisitely placed over the kitchen island and main dining table, leaving a look that truly catches the eye.
A soft tonal colour palette of light blue and white has been used for the walls with additional minimalist accessories pulling the overall scheme together. The result is an open and inviting kitchen diner, that is perfect for entertaining guests.

The space comprises abstract structures, linear furnishings and a soft and sumptuous grand bed that takes centre stage in the room. A cluster of the Amos Lighting pendant lights have also been strategically placed over the soft blue armchair, leaving the perfect place to read and relax.
Doors lead from the main bedroom into the ensuite bathroom where an inviting freestanding bath has been positioned by large bay windows, providing a spot to soak and enjoy the rolling hills in front of you.
