When curating a nursery room for little ones, the right lighting can have a big impact in achieving a peaceful environment. There are a few key factors to consider when lighting this special room, we have put together a few of our tips on how to make lighting the nursery a success.
Use soft warm light
To create a restful environment for putting small children down for naps, warm, soft lighting is an ideal choice. Warm, red toned lighting mimics the light of the setting sun which naturally has a positive effect on sleep.
Install a dimmer switch
Using a dimmer switch allows parents to create a calm ambient atmosphere in the evening, to help little ones wind down for the evening. They are also perfect for providing a low light for night time visits, to check in on the baby without disturbing them.
Have multiple light sources
Whilst soft and dimmable lighting is great for creating a calm room for bed time, for some activities like changing the baby or reading a story, more direct lighting is required. Task lighting such as, table lamps and wall lights are a practical option.
We recommend having a few points of light within the room, such as a dimmable pendant on the ceiling and one or two table lamps, or task wall lights depending on the function of the room. Be playful
Nurseries are a place for both comfort and play.
